Saved By The Bell!

It is important with remote schooling to be aware of the differing schedules of classes. Sometimes it can be hard for a student to keep track of bell times. The following programs might help assist in keeping with the structured programming.

Sometimes what you are really after is right under your nose! Microsoft Outlook or Outlook for Mac has a calendaring option that will flash on the screen and play a noise to remind of the upcoming event.

Simply set a calendar entry on repeat for that particular class for every day of the week. This will play a sound and a pop up if you have Outlook open.

Open Outlook and click on the Calendar function.

Click New Recurring Appointment

Fill out the recurrence pattern.

Adjust the bell reminder time frame. You can even change the particular sound it plays. Just be sure to turn up the speaker.

Added bonus: if you have your email on your cell phone, it will also often integrate with that automatically too.

But say you didn't have Outlook downloaded and don't have an administrator password to install it. You could use a Chrome browser extension PiReminder.

Visit the website PiReminder with your Chrome browser and click Add to Chrome

Make certain you are in the Chrome browser or you will get the button Available on Chrome which will prompt you to download chrome even if you already have it installed!

This requires a sign in so either sign up for the service or put in a social media account.

When prompted click Run on Startup

You are then able to set daily reminders.

There are also customization options where you can set a sound file to play through settings.

The reminder by default will play a small bell sound and pop up in the bottom left hand corner of your screen until it is Dismissed.

A third option is again a very easy fix. Tell Siri, Alexa or Google or set your favorite iphone or Android to remind you.
